Is it possible to use the Placid HD for 6VDC output and ~500mA? If so, could someone please comment on what changes (if any) need to be made?
I've looked through other posts...just haven't found my exact application.
Thanks.

Simply adjust the output voltage pot for 6v and shunt current pot for the current you need.

Thanks Brian.
No extra heat sinks, etc. needed?

Also...would it be better to use the 30 VA transformer? Thanks.

...or mount the transistors to the cabinet floor if it is aluminum.
As for transformer size, you will be consuming less then 4VA, to 30VA is overkill. It will certainly work fine though.

Thanks for the input. Will assemble and test in the next couple of weeks.
