Is there the same problem with Otto II as the SDIF 4 ? Spdif Led is flashing . Could be the reason for the sound ? I use a 7805 for power. Is that to much here as well ? N:B. I deleted my first post Edited by user Tuesday, December 18, 2012 9:04:39 PM(UTC)

Nice to know . Thank you ! Then it was the missing 4,7 - 10 kohm resistor. Working now. But the sound still to forward and to much in the treble and midrange. Without everything was top notch.

So how important is power supply for this purpose. I have used very good supplys everywhere else but only a 7805 here . Could that be the reason for bad sound ?

Not very likely. There are many more plausible reasons. Pictures of your setup might illuminate the cause.
The circuit is basically just a switch.

Well I have mounted a discret supply and some Black Gates so I will listen again tonight.
A switch but no relays hmm .

Sound is definitive better . Removed that c..... ceramic cap. After the discrete regulator there now is 1500 Uf. BG NX and 100 nf. BG High Q. What a difference.

A C0G/NP0 ceramic cap is ideally suited to this application. An electrolytic is not. In this case, the current draw of the chip is so small, it probably won;t make a difference either way, but this is certainly not something that will affect performance in any way. Also the board draws almost no current. literally a few micro amps(not milliamps).
1500uf? Yikes....

It affects my ears but I know you are right that teoretical Ceramic is the best choice. Maybe the regulator was the biggest reason for improvement . You shall know I am very happy you are here and you make it possible for me to buy your creations.
