Hi,

I intend to buy 2 Buffalo IIISE modules, 2 output stages (Legato or IVY III), and use remote volume control to work for both BIII, of course, not just for one channel.
The idea is to have a dual mono DAC with remote volume control.

I also need Balanced out and single ended outputs to work simultaneously, because i use bi-amping in my system, and I want to go directly from DAC to power amps.

Is this possible at all?d'oh!

Is it true that output voltage of Legato is 1.5 VRMS, and IVY III has 2 VRMS?

Here is a link to remote volume control kit I intend to use:

And also add a little LCD screen:

Do I need 2 of these in order for this to work? And CAN it work with a single remote?

In reverse order:
- You can't simply add a screen to a DAC board and expect it to function. You need a microcontroller with your own firmware to do that. You can't build it with the on-board firmware.
- Remote volume control is simple to add by connecting a remote controlled pot to the DAC board with the standard firmware. From the questions you ask I take it you haven't read the integration guide yet. Please do so before you make a purchase, or you'll end up with things you don't need.
- You can alter the output voltage of the I/V stages as you see fit.
- Driving SE and balanced is possible, but it's cheaper to simply connect 2 balanced amps. With a dual mono setup you need a balanced/SE converter to get SE output.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.I saw your posts on Arduino.I just heard about Arduino today.

Is Arduino such a controller, do I have to program it myself, or can I buy it programmed for BIIISE somewhere?

No, I haven't read integration guide yet, you are right.
I will, but I doubt I would understand much.I am far behind on the subject, compared to some other users.

So, it is possible to get BAL and SE outputs to work simultaneously in dual mono BIII SE configuration? Good Drool

But, according to this:
http://www.twistedpearau.../dualmono_BII_IVYIII.pdf

It seems that in dual mono SE out puts are used to drive XLR output stage. To what would that +, -, and GND of the ballanced connect to?

I have 4 amps (monoblocks) - 2 with balanced and 2 with SE input...

Can remote volume control work with 2 BIIISE in dual mono? The one in the first post.
But I don't see any pot, anywhere, not on BIII or my remote control.

Soryy I am this behind, I am trying to get as much info as I can - and still I'm probably gonna end up with a lot of stuff I don't need. But that is OK, if I can get this to work
