Hi,

I am feeding my BIII by positive rail of a Placid HDBP (5.25V). In order to provide separated power supply to SPDIF4, can I use remain negative one to provide a lower positive voltage (e.g 4.4V, by reverse + and -)?

Am I going to do a silly thing?

Thank you.

The two boards share a ground, which would result in connecting the PlacidBP's + to - (short).

Definitely will not work. You need two positive supplies.
