What is the maximum current I can safely draw from the Placid HD running at 5.25v?

wouldn't it be 500mA., in the stock version anyways, i did push it to it's limits and that's the reading i get. Then again i only use 1 of the secondaries . Russ has mentioned on another post that using both secondaries could give more current . no harm in trying , someone could second that motion or not . It depends on the input voltage and on if your willing to adjust some circuit values. :)
In stock form with 8-10V input 500-600ma should be ok.
If you are willing to tweak values you could go higher, but you may also need larger heat sinks.
I have had one running 5V at 1A with no issues. but I used largish heat sinks, and the load was taking about 85% of the current.

Since I may be needing 5V at 1A I wonder what adjustments you made in order to achieve that with Placid Hd. Did you use the 9V+9V 15VA transformer (or can it be used)? Also, is it possible to get 1A per rail out of Placid HD-BP with 12V? What adjustments are necessary for that? Can the 15V+15V 30VA transformer on the website be used? Best regards, Mattias
