I have a sony video board that includes a yss901 crosstalk canceller chip. I am clueless about all things digital but I want to use the chip part of the circuit as an external device between a cd player and a preamp that have digital in/out respectively. The board as it is uses the analog in/out to the chip. I´ve been told I need one spdif receiver before the chip´s input and another one at the output. Would your receiver work? A pdf of the yss901 can be found googling the words: yss901 stereo dipole I would appreciate any insight into the matter. Thanks.

Well, I already took the plunge and bought a pair of spdif receiver boards. I would appreciate any insight as to how to configure and connect them to the yss901 chip. This chip can adopt four DAC output formats, whatever that means.

I really cannot answer as I know nothing about that chip.
I hope it works out well.
Cheers! Russ

The chip can take four formats: 48fs 16 bits Data LSB justified 48fs 18 bits Data LSB justified 48fs 20 bits Data LSB justified 64fs 16 bits Data MSB justified I guess I should go with the first option and configure the receiver for 16 bits. Should it work with 48fs? I keep my fingers crossed

One of the receiver modules stopped working after I inserted the dsp chip in the AIF line. Should I send it back to you guys for a check-up before buying a new one? I figured maybe it can be fixed?

What do you suspect happened?
Was there DC bias on the signal? If so you may need to capacitive couple.
Feel free to send it in.

I have no idea as to what happenned but it does no longer aknowledge an sincoming signal whether AIF of SPDIF. I´m afraid I don´t have the means or expertise to test it so I´ll send back it to you. Please give me your mail address,I can´t find it anywhere on the site. By the way, for some reason my emails don´t reach your mailbox, that´s why I´m posting here. You sure are fast responding too!
