Could someone please explain for me how the Single S/PDIF (or AES-EBU) Level Converter Kit is connected to the buffalo III Dac

It's a 2-pin connection to any of the connectors D1 to D8, if you use the on-board firmware I'd stick to D1 to D4 and set the DIP switches accordingly.
