After doing some modifications on my Buffalo III, I got in a hurry and forgot
to reinstall the AVCC module. Apart from the lower output level, the sound
was improved. With the AVCC module installed, in my opinion, the dynamics
are too much.

With the AVCC module removed, I measured 0.753 VDC on the output pin
where the AVCC would be located, and noticed 20mA is being pulled from the
Legato power supply positive rail.

I know overvoltage can damage the DAC, but can undervoltage in the analog
output circuitry damage it also? The es9018 datasheet specifies 3.3V +/- 5%.

Yikes... This is a super bad idea.

If you want lower output there are a lot better ways to achieve it.
