I am considering using an Opus to upgrade an old Sony consumer level SACD player. I have the schematic and have found where to tap the necessary DSD signals coming out of the DSD decoder chip. Reading the Opus information and the Wolfson datasheets and evaluation boards, it is clear that the best way to handle DSD is to use a software controller to gain access to all the Wolfson control options. In particular, I'm interested to try DSDplus which converts DSD to hi-rez PCM and uses digital filters to control ultrasonic aliasing. My problem is that I don't have any experience in setting up a software controller. Does anyone out there have any experience with software control of an Opus or the Wolfson chip? Any advice or direction you could point me in would be appreciated. Alternatively, has anyone tried the Opus in DSD Direct hardware mode? If so, are you willing to share what you did for an output stage low pass filter? I've read what I could online about SACD filtering, but as this is proprietary to DAC sound, there isn't much detail. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Steinholien. It looks like a good source and I'll dig in and see what I can find.
