One of the advantages of building a dual-mono Buffalo III is that there are, for the most part, pairs of boards allowing comparison between identical parts.

I have two Placid HD boards, one each to power two Buffalo III boards. They were built at approximately the same time and each was compared to the other while being constructed -- I believe that they are identical. One Placid HD works flawlessly: The other works in most respects, allowing me to set the voltage and CCS current, but not allowing me to adjust the shunt current after the Buffalo III is powered by the Placid HD. In this situation, the shunt current measured (between TP_OUT+ and TP_SHUNT+) is 0.000 mV (= 0.000 mA), and is non-adjuatable using VR1.

Any thoughts as to the cause of this problem?

Possible bad solder joint(s).
Possible dead (check transistor pins for 0R) or misplaced transistor.

The fact that it is 0V, and not some random value indicates an open connection somewhere.

Thanks, Brian, for your quick reply. I should have added in my original post that I resoldered all of the joints on that board and still got the same result. I agree with you about a dead transistor, and will check them next.
