Buffalo III + IVY III, Lock but no output signal

Hi, I have assambled my Buffalo and IVY and I tried it for the first time yesterday. When I got the switches correct the lock LED was on. I messured the output on the IVY-III with a scope but there was no signal. To search for the problem I would like to test without the IVY first. Can I just connect a 1K resistor on the output from Buffalo and messure over that resistor? Edited by user Tuesday, March 13, 2012 11:50:05 PM(UTC)

Have you connected the volume control pot (or the shunt jumper in it's place)?
The kit includes a small shunt to jumper the PB3 and 3.3V pins of the ADC header when the volume pot is not used. Without that in place, you will have no output.

Yes, I have tested with the volume pot connected. I did not have it connected to start with, but I suspected the volume would be zero without it. I will also try with the jumper tonight if the connection to the pot is bad for some reason.
Why I asked about the resistor on the output is because I like to isolate the problem to the Buffalo or the IVY.

I have made a try with a resistor now and no success. I have messured all voltages and they are correct. The lock led is on when I choose the right input. Nothing happens over the resistor across the output when I turn the pot, but the voltage on the middle pin on the pot is according to the pot possition. I have gone throu all settings a copule of times. I will use a Hifiduino when every thing works, but I have not tested that yet. Is it possible to make some testing with the HifiDuino if I cant messure? I have a scope that I can use. That is the status for the moment. It's probably worth posting a picture of your setup to get a better idea of what is happening.

While you are testing, it will probably be worth while to install the jumper instead of the volume pot.

As almost always a stupid error.
It was problem with the source. I wrongly asumed that since the lock LED was on there was music.
When I switched to an other source it works.
