hello,

i put together a dual mono build the best that i could, and couldn't achieve a lock on the signal,
the mute leds are always on. i have a exadevice plug into my sidecar witch is plug into both dacs.
when i switch the input with the switch the voltage goes in but the 5v relays dont make any clicking sound so my guess is that the sidecar isn't plug properly.

the flat cable are around 4 inches long each side, and the wires from the exadevice to the sidecar around 2.5inch.
before taking all this apart to connect the exadevice directly to the dacs, and solder the jumpers instead of the sidecar, id like some advice thanks.

Hmmm, always wise to start simple...

Maybe Stereo straight I2S in?

I disconnected the i2c cable from the 2nd dac, plugged in the sidecar with the one inch flat cable to the dac and tried it ( i think that's all it's require to put it stereo).

I also checked the sidecar, when i move from d2 to d1 on the switch input(sidecar is on d1) the diode on the board switch to 3.3v instead of 5.25v, and R1 have 1.2v across it instead of 40-60mv, but no clicking sound from the relays, i dont know if the 5v relays normaly do a click sound like the 24v one on the legato.

i wonder if the volume pot is important in the signal path, because even on the data sheet of the alpha 5k pot there was no indication on how to solder, so i assumed it was reversible.

The value of R1 on sidecar may be a bit high for what you are doing. Try 1K-2K.

lock achieved! looks like putting a 1k on R1 did the trick, i can also hear the click from the relays.

I haven't listens to any music so far but technically everything should be working.

Thank you very much Russ.
