Hi Gents,

In the process of constructing my DAC i have decided to keep the power supplies for the DAC/IVY in a separate box and connect them with a screened umbilical cord.

This means I have a Buffalo DAC and a CD Pro 2 in close proximity, so using the 12s feed from the CD Pro 2 to the Buffalo is now an option, only thing is that I have the 4 input SPDIF module I want to use also for USB and Optical inputs.

So, can I have preferment 12s input attached to the DAC header via a cable and simultaneously run the 4 Inputs to the SPDIF without conflict?

Regards

Johnny

This sounds like a job for the Sidecar. It will switch between the I2S input and the 4-channel S/PDIF level converter for you.

Side, note: the I2S output from a CDPro2 is 48fs, and will not work directly with the buffalo, which requires 64fs PCM. A Metronome can fix this, or you can use the CDPro's S/PDIF output.

Google: "cdpro site:www.twistedpearaudio.com/forum" for some more information.
