Any chance you will make the Legato Output buffer discret ? I am not completly satisfied with the sound from LME 49600 !

Going discrete doesn't mean it'll sound better. It'll sound different, and may not even be more to your liking than the sound of the LME 49600.

I do not agree, discret has always been better in my and my friends ears. The sound is with way to much midrange and treble . Another possibility is the Vishay Dale resistors I do not like them.

But thank you for the answer ! Drool

Look carefully at what the LME part is. You can see the schematic on the datasheet. :)

It is built exactly as one would build a superb discrete diamond buffer, only with better matched parts and excellent thermal coupling and some protection thrown in for a bonus. It would be something close to impossible to build a similar circuit discretely and obtain anything close to the same results. In fact I am quite certain it is not possible (I would be glad to see any circuit that claims to be better for the same application with the same features). Now that is not to say there are not circuits people might *like better*, but that does not mean they are actually - well better. :)

No thank you on going discrete there, I will stick with the LME. :)

I have ordered Takman Carbon resistors. Bought a lot to match. Was not possible to buy 4.99 kohm. So I ordered 5.1 kohm. is that ok ? It means 2 % difference to the schematic.

The value is fine, but metal film would be a better choice for lower noise and distortion. Still it will work just fine. If you like it better than by all means do it. :)

I have not used metal film for many years and none of my friends either.
