Yesterday a got my speakers and heard my Buffalo II for the first time. The sound is just stunning. I have to work at bit with it because the sound is a little to the " cold " side. My problem is when playing loud the SPDIF lock suddenly goes of and on. My voltage out of the Placids is 5,1 V and shunt current is 50 ma ( if I remember ). I use two Placids ! Think it must be the one for DVcc ? Do I have to adjust the voltage up to 5,2 ? Edited by user Monday, November 28, 2011 10:24:50 AM(UTC)

Define loud - earth quaking loud?
Is this only happening when playing loud? Can you get 10 hours of uninterrupted music when playing at modest level?
Almost sounds like a bad connection / solder joint (or a serious current draw from the power amplifier causing the mains to sag (not likely) ;-))

I can play without problems by moderate levels. When very loud or very dynamic I get the problem. My Power amp is a 400 W Class D . No problem there.

You don't have to use sockets anywhere. Direct solder if you like, but you really should have no issues with the sockets.
I have never seen this occur before, but if I were to venture a guess I would start looking at ground issues and as avr300 said possibly some loose wiring.

I have 1,1 ohm in series with each ground at the 6 different inputs ! Could also be the input selector. On the selector there is 100ohm and a capacitor to ground with an unsure contact to the cabinet. So you do not think it can be something with the output voltage of the Placid.
