The Dac locks on the Spdif input but there is no signal out of the dac. Both voltages for DVCC and AVCC are ca. 5.1 V. I use the volumite with seperate supply. Any ideas what is wrong ? The Spdif switch is " on ". I use a pulse trafo at the spdif input.

Which version of the Buffalo is this?

When you say DVCC and AVCC are 5.1V, you mean the input voltage?

Buffalo II . 5.1 V is into the Tridents. I will try to use the Dac without the Volumite later to see if that helps. The firmware is on the volumite. I will change that also. After a rest I will be back.

Do not seem to be any problem with my Alps pot. The two 10 k. decks are parallel. Anything must be reset ?

Alps motorized pot instead of the supplied pot ! Found another firmware for the volumite and now it works. Sorry for disturbing you.
