my BII has been working fine for a few weeks with a spdif
input but I've now hitting a problem; after changing the source
(and back again) both the mute and lock leds are on. Any
ideas about what has happened?

my mistake - the new spdif source was a HiFace and I hadn't realised that
it outputs 2v. I've now made the appropriate connections from the manual
- ie via D1 and it works fine.
However, does this mean that I've broken something on the low
level spdif input?

so I found the thread mentioning similar symptoms to that I have - sounds like
I've blown the comparator.
oh well, there were far too many input options anyway:-)
