I would take a resistor of say 470R and put in in series with an LED, then use one of the outputs from the LCDPS. The one you use for VD into the buffalo would be just fine.

The series resistor will depend on how much current your LED wants to see. To figure the current take the voltage minus the LED drop (around 2V or a little less usually depending on color etc) then use ohms law for the rest. :)
