Had it in a cardboard box for far too long and only decided to get on with it so I can build a new one...!
[I'm sure this sounds familiar to many of our regular lurkers in these forums]

Just a simple 1-input/Volumite/Placid/HeadphoneOut build in a Galaxy case.
Tried to keep it minimal because it'll go to the office system, to be hooked up to my KRK monitors, when my next (sort of cost-no-object) Buffalo project is done.

It goes without saying that it sounds great!

Thanks guys!
I must admit it looks much better than the "ON Semiconductors" samples cardboard box I had it in.

Very nice. Do you find that the placids get very hot with the shorter heat sinks?

The nice thing a out an aluminum case, is that you can mount the Placid's transistors to the bottom panel if you need to.

In fact the Placids get very hot. I can only keep my fingers on the heatsinks for a few seconds, but, to be honest I don't worry that much.
They've been running like that for over a year now with no issues (even during the notorious Greek summer).

If I was starting over I would certainly do what Brian suggests. I just can't bother to unsolder the heatsinks at the moment. :)
