Hi,
If I want to use all inputs, DSD, I2S and S/PDIF (not at the same time), would I just use a selector switch or there's a more elegant solution?
For S/PDIF I will use the S/PDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver and add Coax and Toslink to it.
What do I do for AES3(AES/EBU), I2S, DSD input? How do I connect those?
Thanks Do

Just read the manual (Buffalo and MUX) and have a look around the forum and your questions will be answered.

There will be an MRB1 board for that in the future. It would allow you to switch between I2S input from the Mux and DSD input. I would use a microcontroller like an Arduino board control the whole setup to allow for a smooth user experience. The Mux has one AES capable input, together with coax and toslink this all gets converted to I2S. With the MRB1, you can switch the BII between the input wiring for DSD and I2S. The SPDIF switch on the BII board remains in the same position for both types of input.

Hi LeonvB, I will buy the S/PDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver Module which has AES input. Do you know if the Cirrus Logic CS8416 S/PDIF receiver chip can degrade audio in any ways? thanks Do Edited by user Saturday, February 26, 2011 1:42:49 PM(UTC)

Not in my experience. But I'm sure you could find a way to make it do so. ;)

If I want to use the BII as an 8 DAC per channel it should be set in mono mode and I would require two BII, right? Is I2S possible when using the BII in dual mono mode "8 DAC per channel". I know that using it with Coax is quite easy to achieve using the guide but with S/PDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver using the I2S output seems to be a little different. If there a DOC or Link to this information? Anyone with an answer please Thanks Do Edited by user Thursday, March 3, 2011 1:49:52 PM(UTC)

Yes, you would need two. Set them up for dual-mono and run I2S to both boards. That's all there is to it.

Quote:If there a DOC or Link to this information? For a description of dual mono, see the integration guide: www.twistedpearaudio.com/docs/docs.aspx - chapter "Input options for the DAC module" for the I2S connection table.
