Greetings all,

I'm watching a thermometer sitting atop the air vents over the DAC chip of a BII/Legato. [The power & I/V resistors are mounted with air space underneath the Legato board.] Steady state is around 115-117F, or ambient plus 47F. In your opinion, what air temp around the DAC would cause concern?

That's difficult to answer, but I would say you are perfectly fine as you are. As long as you are staying within the specified voltage ranges.

Yes, the Legato supplies are 15.0v and lower. I think the 5.5v Placid is the largest heat producer. I had originally installed nice-looking mesh ventilation screens in the case but they blocked too much convection and everything got pretty hot. Current case ventilation (shown in link) seems to level out at 'warm'...
