Hello,
Is enough a 30VA 2x6V toroid for powered up a Bufallo II by a Placid?, or I need to get a 7V or more transformer?.
Best Regards and happy new year.

Hi ramagochi,
6-0-6 @ 30va will give you +/- 5A. On the voltage side, once passed the regulators it should give you about 8.5V DC and without load it could be even higher. Expect a voltage drop after it is fully regulated. I would probably aim at a 12-0-12 for better headroom.
Russ can confirm this
Thanks

The theory goes like this:
Vdc=Vac x 1.4 The rectifiers will drop about .6v you need about 3V headroom for Placid
So 6Vac=8.4v -.6v = 7.8v - 3V =4.8V
so not quite enough for a 5.5 Placid output.
Maybe it will work, but it is at best borderline...

Thank you!
I'll get a 9V unit or maybe I'll connect both secondaries in series for get 12V.
Cheers!
