Hi,

I'm just wondering what is the difference between the two power supplies... Placid BP shunt type and LCBPS Bipolar not shunt?

I can see there is an obvious design difference but wanted to know which one was adequate to which project...

I bought :
Buffalo 2 (kit with PSU included)
IVY-III I/V Stage (Is it better I power the three stages with separate PSUs? Regardless of yes or no, which PSU(s) is recommended)

I'm also looking into the S/PDIF 4:1 MUX/Receiver

I know this is a simple question but I'm just puzzled...

Thanks & Happy New Year!

Thanks: 1 times
For the IVY I would recommend the Placid. The Placid BP is a shunt regulator with better performance than the LCBPS. As for powering the Buffalo, I believe that that kit includes the Placid. If you intend to add the Trident regulators to the Buffalo, you could use use the LCDPS for the Buffalo, however I tried that and prefered the Trident/Buffalo combination powered by a Placid.
