Hi,

i read a lot in this forums but finally i get more confused. I am in the progress of building a dual mono Buf II with 2 x IVI III and a mux receiver. Volumite.
so now I am to wire the hole thing together. The question is what wire to use for what? What quality? Which one should be short? Where to route them? Which should be twisted. Should i use for wires with spdif signal 75 Ohm wires. For AES 110 Ohm ?
what kind of wire for I2S. I plan to use it with external spdif (75 Ohm) input, one AES input (110 Ohm). Also i plan to add a cd2pro transport externally an maybe use I2S (which connector type to use best)?

Sorry for the lot of questions. Any help would be fine

thx

I2S wires should be short, but even more importantly of equal length. Obviously your signal wires should be routed well away from AC lines, or at leas never run them parallel to eachother. I2C is much lower frequency, so those can be run over greater lengths. For very short cables, impedance matching is less needed than for longer ones. Most people tend to use a RJ-45 socket as an I2S connector, although a multi-pole XLR could also be used.
