In my readings I find that the Sabre32 does not do well with Mac toslink inputs. This appears to be related to jitter and is apparently in the design of the chip itself. I plan to use either a Toshiba or Macbook (probably Toshiba) with both optical and usb ports. Would I be better off with the Opus as opposed to the Buffalo, as the Wolfson chip appears to be less sensative to jitter. My background is as an NPR station manager and a classical recording producer/engineer. I listen primarily to classical music and am very picky as regards sound quality. I am currently in the market for a new computer, so any advice as to which brands have the cleanest optical and usb outputs would also be greatly appreciated. Dr. John Dozier
