Hi,
My Metronome seems to be dead. I have the Buffalo24 and the Metronome is for re-clocking my different i2s streams (mostly for Marantz cd-player with 48fs i2s).Yesterday I switched them on and had no light on the Buffalo lock signal led (it always went on before). I connected my M-Audio Transit with self made i2s output directly to Buffalo the lock went on and it played music again. I measured from the Metros' LDO output 0.2V (I input 7.3V)and it was really hot. Also is it normal to have 1 ohm resistance between the vio pin and ground (I desoldered the ferrite bead L1)?

It sound like you have a short. Why did you desolder L1?

I desoldered L1 'cause I couldn't figure out where the short is happening. Next would have been L2 but after removing L1 the LDO output was no longer shorted. I blew air under the SRC pins to clean it. Then I measured from VIO to GND and it wasn't shorted anymore. I have a really lousy DMM so I couldn't get a reading. I'll solder the ferrite back on tomorrow. Hope that this was all that's needed. Otherwise I'll just have to order a new Metronome.

Problem solved. There was probably some small part from drilling holes that had fallen between the VIO and GND pin. I just didn't see it. Have to be more careful with cleaning the case after every mod.
