Hi Russ, Just wondering if the new Legato I/V stage will drive headphones like the IVY III? I actually want to be able to drive both speakers and headphones, but not at the same time of course. Balanced output only. On the IVY III you recomended taking the headphone outputs off of the input side of the output resistors. What do you recomend for the Legato?
You actually mentioned driving high impedance cans with the Legato on the DIY forum, mine however are much lower Denon D2000's.
Thanks for any help and advise, I was just going to try the Legato to compare and contrast with the IVY III, so not a big deal if it will not work.

Yes, but I personally would not use it with anything less than 300ohms or so. If you plan on driving balanced headphones directly the IVY-III is a better choice.

Thanks Russ, Since headphone capability is important at the moment, I will stick to the IVY III, and save the Legato for either another DAC or a time when I have a seperate headphone amp that is at least as good as the Buffalo II.
