On my buffalo32s I use USB and coax frequently. Is it ok to leave both I2S USB and a SPDIF coax input connected to the DAC at all times? Devices wouldn't be connected, just the jacks...Or would it be better if I get a switch/relay of some kind to switch between the two?
I think I remember reading that it is bad to have multiple inputs wired to the DAC at the same time, even if nothing is plugged in, but I don't remember why.

If they will never be connected at the same time, it should be okay

For those reading this in the future, as I discovered it turns out that it will NOT work if you have consumer-level SPDIF, as the SPDIF comparator will have to be turned on, and that is not ok if you also want I2S input. A silly overlook on my part... one would need a SPDIF transceiver/MUX.
