I made a mistake and ordered a custom-wound transformer with center-tap
for the Placid Bipolar.Sick It is already finished Boo hoo!

As I understand Russ´ post Nr. 49 from this thread

at diyaudio

I can still use this transformer, but but what are the disadvantages against the
original design with two transformers for the IVY?

The Placid is for a IVY III

So I guess the Buffalo´s ground is automatically connected to
the center-tap as well through the connections between Buffalo and IVY.
Any problems coming from this?

All the best,
Nak

Hi Nakamichi,

Did you get it sorted with your center tapped transformer ? Any issues with it ?

Incidentally I'm planning to use a TWO center tapped output transformer for one Placid BP (I'm in China and R-Core trannies made to specification are cheap there). my intent is to get lower dropout from the rectifier to reduce the ripple (...ho!...YES I'll be using Schottkies, and YES, you can call me a perfectionnist...)

Russ... I'd be interested to know if you have different thoughts on it ? Any counter indication in doing this ?
