I have a CD-PRO2M and I want to use it with I2S output in dual-mono version. This is what I bought: 2 pcs. Buffalo II DAC; 2 pcs. PSU 5.5 V; 2 pcs. Ivy I / V stage; 2 pcs. PSU 15V; 1 pcs. Metronome; 1 pcs. PSU 5.5V 1 pcs. Volume controller. Can you tell me if this component is ok? How should I properly connected modules for dual-mono version: CDPRO2M- I2S - Metronome - Buffalo II DAC - I / V - Volumite? Thanks very much! 1. Looks more or less ok, it does seem weird to use 3 5.5V PSUs and I don't know if the Metronome adds much value. Have you added the transformers and the firmware? 2. A diagram for dual mono is on the site, for the details of the volumite to DAC see this thread: http://www.twistedpearau....aspx?g=posts&t=1198

You could use a single Placid.
The Metronome is needed to allow the DAC to work with the 48fs output of the CDPRO2.

I saw the diagram for dual - mono SPIDF. In I2S is thesame ? Connects mean I2S inputs from Buffalo in parallel, after which they are connected to output I2S Metronome? Thanks so much! Regards, Vitaly

You will be throwing away the master clock after the Metronome anyway, so I am not sure it would have much of an impact.

A diagram for dual mono SPDIF? Where did you see that? The dual mono diagram on the DAC page shows you the right way to hook up 2 DACs and 2 IVYs to their balanced outputs. There are no lines for the DACs' inputs. The thread I pointed to shows you how to hook up the Volumite for both single and dual board setups. This leaves your input as the only question. I don't know about the output of the Metronome, but I think it was Russ on diyAudio who said that 2 outputs in parallel were the way to do I2S from a Mux unit. SPDIF was different, and required a link between the two DAC boards, if I recall correctly. I assume it should work with Metronome too, but Brian or Russ could tell you more about that.

You run I2S to both Buffalo boards from the Metronome (or any other I2S source). Two parallel runs are preferable to a single diasy-chained run.

Hi Brian ,
I want to use dual-mono Buffalo II in my system with active speaker (Open Baffle).
When using the VOLUMITE,where to have the best signal from I / V IVY for amplifier bass ? (For RCA and XLR inputs)
Brian, I am very happy sound!!!!!! If I had more DAC with TDA 1541 pcm63Y. But Buffalo dual-mono is ... BRILLIANT !!!!:):):) I look forward to trying the package from you and I / V Legato :)
Thank you very much!!!
Best regards :)! Vitali
