Boo hoo! Boo hoo!
After finally getting all the parts and a case of sorts put together I have built my Buffalo II and IVY III.

In order to do this I sacrificed most of my B32.

So now that I find my BII/IVYIII is not working I do not have a dac.

Initial setup was 3 x 15-0-15 psu (one Placid), 2 x 5.5v psu (one Placid), BII, IVY III, MUX-4, Volumite.

All I got out of it was a silent left channel and a very low, very distorted right channel.

The MUX is locking (I had used it with the B32), the BIII is locking.

So I disconnected the 15-0-15's feeding the Balsie part of the IVY, result no sound at all.

So I linked the Balsie psu's on the board as per recommendation, result left - silence, right low level distorted signal.

I have checked, re-checked all the wiring / board connections and I am totally mystified.

One thing I am not totally sure about is the orientation of the relay on the IVY - anyone have a photo or diagram of the relay supplied in the kit? On my relay there are two black dots with a black bar at one end and there is a dot but it is in the middle of the relay. I have checked the datasheet for the relay and I think it is in the correct way.

SO ANY IDEAS ABOUT FAULT CHECKING THE BII / IVY III?

Pin 1 of the relay as denoted on the PCB with a dot.

There is a elongated dot (looks like a bar) on the relay in the same spot that also denotes pin 1.

That is the way I interpreted it - so I do have that in the pcb correctly.

I cannot see what is wrong - so I will take the BII/IVYIII out and replace with the B32 and re-check the boards.

You can check the outputs of the B-II module directly (without the IVY attached). Also, make sure you have the AVCC module properly attached.

I am betting it's a problem on the IVY-III, but not sure what.

My question was wrong! It is not the BII or the IVYIII - it is the MUX-4 which has worked for a year or two.

After following Brians suggestion I found the output from the BII still had the problem, connecting directly from an spdif source - MUSIC!

I am wondering if I have disturbed the wiring on the switch - so that will be my task for this evening.

Oh it is nice to have music again - thanks guys.
