I'm fairly new to the world of Twisted Pear DIY, so forgive me if what I am about to ask sounds a bit wacky... I've been interested in using some type of Twisted Pear DAC in the future but also want to integrate it with my Linux computer setup. Currently I use a custom designed Linux music server feeding a USB DAC. Simply, it's a PC Engines Alix (http://www.pcengines.ch/alix3d2.htm) that is loaded with Debian based Voyage Linux OS (http://linux.voyage.hk/) for embedded boards. The software is Music Player Daemon (http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Music_Player_Daemon_Wiki), that grabs FLAC files from a remote NFS machine. Board runs silent and using only 3 watts of power; entire software stack runs in RAM, which boots off a small 512MB compact flash card. MPD output to USB to feed a USB DAC. So... I see that some some Twisted Pear DAC's accept I2S as an input stream. Can one use , or is anyone using a similar single board computer with I2S audio out to feed a Twisted Pear DAC? I have been investigating some inxepensive boards that might do the trick: The Technologic System TS-7400 has Debian pre-installed, boots in a couple of seonds, and has open specs. Link: http://www.embeddedarm.c...tail.php?product=TS-7400Datasheet: http://www.embeddedarm.c...on/ts-7400-datasheet.pdfThere are also SoM (System on Modules) that have I2S out: http://www.emacinc.com/som/som536em.htm You can buy generic carried boards or have 'em custom made. I have used the Beagle board to play PCM directly to my DACs via I2S. :) It certainly a viable solution.

Also, is it simply a matter of using a jumper from the Beagleboard to the DAC? The Beaglboard is similar to the Technologic Boards I'm researching. I basically just hacked the source code which is used for the Beagle's on-board CODEC. There was not much to it really.
The TS-7400 looks pretty cool too.

Been using raspberry pi1&2 (i2s and hifiberry digi), odroid c2 (i2s and usb) and cubox-i (optical and usb) with my tpa dac`s for a while now. I am hoping that someone will take it one step further at some point and make alsa control the volume and inputs so that I can get rid of the dedicated arduino controller and the ir-remote. Atm I am using Roon music playback software, and it is capable of controlling the volume via alsa from the app (on phone, tablet, pc etc). Now that roon will get support for sonos (and chromecast is also on the roadmap); multiroom music playback using the same input method in all the rooms should be possible.
