Hi,
I've had the new Buffalo working for a week or so now. I find its better in all ways compared to the Buffalo24. Micro detail, bass, mid bass, dynamics are better. When using the B24 I thought it was very good, a little layed back in the midrange especially after I added the Mux. The BII has a midrange that is full and not lacking. I removed the B24 from the case and connected the BII to the Mux. I have I2S out of the Mux into the BII. In my hurry to assemble the BII I placed the IvyIII on top of the dac. It works fine that way I guess. I am getting random unlock dropouts and dont know what to look at to fix it. I left all the switches in the default settings. Maybe I should swap the Ivy and BII and see if that helps. Any ideas as to what can help solve the dropouts? Thanks to Brian and Russ for their great kits and support.

So I moved the Ivy to the bottom and hoped that would solve the drop outs but it didnt. I have the system on 2 dedicated ac lines. When I would switch the lights on or off that are on a different circuit it would drop out. So after reading posts about this issue I moved the ac plug into a duplex by itself on my PS Audio Quintet and that seems to have solved the problem. This dac is much more sensitive to static and power fluctuations. Now when I switch the lights on or off it doesnt drop out. But static will still cause a drop out. The B24 didnt drop out like this BII does. But I think I have it solved and it seems to sound better plugged into a isolated jack. I am amazed at how good this dac sounds. Low level detail is excellent. Red book cd never sounded better. Now if I could get a Retro I could have a balanced dac and vinyl source. A balanced Lightspeed is in the works. I am using a single ended Lighter note ldr pre now. With the new dac this is real music. Thanks guys for the great dac!
