I was wondering if I should remove the ic2 on the volumite when using it with the buffalo2? Because when I remove the controller on the buffalo2 and hookup the volumite to the buffalo2 it blows a fuse on my placid when I first power it up. Then when I remove the volumite and put the controller back on it also blows the fuse on the placid when I power it on.

You should remove the vreg on the Volumite and use a jumper between pins 1 and 3 as outlined in the Volumite manual.
Neither of the conditions you mentioned should not cause a fuse to blow. It sounds like there is something else wrong. Either too small of a fuse or a short somewhere.
What value fuse are you using?
Can you post some pictures of your setup?

The zip ties are hiding it but I have the resistor installed on the volumite. I was wondering what is the advantage or disadvantage of having the resistors installed? Edited by user Sunday, April 4, 2010 2:27:04 PM(UTC)

The VREG on the volumite cannot be in place if you are deriving the supply voltage from the BUFII. :) Take it out and install the jumper as indicated in the manual. Edited by user Wednesday, April 7, 2010 7:40:22 PM(UTC)

Also, remove the on-board microprocessor in Buffalo II when using an external microprocessor such as volumite.
