Hi, Folks
(Please forgive me posting in the USB Receiver/DAC forum a topic which should be in the SPDIF Tranceiver Module section - but every time I entered the SPDIF Transceiver section, the program would bust me to "Guest" and prevent me from logging back in. Very frustrating. If anyone can explain to me how that works - that would be terrific.)
Now, my question regarding the SPDIF Transceiver is as follows ...
I have a CDPRO-2 CD Transport which only outputs I2S.
I have a non-TPA DAC which only accepts SPDIF input.
I also have a Metronome and a TPA SPDIF Transceiver module.
I need the Met to bump the sampling frequency up beyond 64fs.
I need the SPDIF Transceiver to create a SPDIF signal for my SPDIF-input-only DAC.
So I'm guessing the sequence would be ...
CDPRO-2(I2S out)...(I2S in)Metronome(I2S out)...(I2S in)SPDIF Transceiver(SPDIF out) ... (SPDIF in)DAC
Is this the correct sequence?
Is Metronome clock the Master and SPDIF Transceiver clock the slave?
How should the switches on Metronome and SPDIF Transceiver be set so they'll work together?
If anyone could shed some light on these issues it would be much appreciated.

Your reasoning and suggested signal sequence seems fine.
Why not take the S/PDIF directly from the CDPRO2?
I have never seen a CDPRO2 without S/PDIF output. You can even tap the TTL level signal directly from the transport if you are handy with a soldering iron.

Shouldn't it be CDPRO-2 CD Transport -> Spdif Tranceiver -> Metronome -> DAC? That is how mine is setup. I don't remember seeing a SPDIF input on the metronome but the spdif transceiver has a spdif input.
