Hi all,

I'm building my personal "hi-fy, hi grade" version with TPA.
The core is based on buffalo II, legato 2, ventus.

Ventus are driven by legato bal out for my Grado (32 ohm).
I'm looking for a power stage to connect at legato unbal out. My target is to listen jazz or classic music with B&W 805.

Any suggestions??

Best

Roberto

Branch the balanced out from the Legato to feed the Ventus and a pair of Sympaticos?

Brian,

two questions.

I'm brush out some rust from my ee degree.
Putting ventus and sympatico in parallel. Ventus is about 2-5K inp impedance, sympatico about 100K. Surely legato can drive them but what about interactions (if any)?

I've an order shipping next Feb 27th. How can I add a sympatico kit?

Best

Roberto

No problems at all, in fact the only effect will be very slightly reduced output. Not even worth mentioning really.

I'm not sure I understand this branching, but I very interested as I have all the modules to try it!
Do you mean using 4 pcs of Ventus as line-stages between the bal out of Legato and the bal in of Sympatico?

No I think he means using 1 legato and 2 Ventus(for headphones) along with a Sympatico. The Sympatico inputs would be wired in parallel with the Ventus inputs.

Ok. So basically using the Ventus connected as the onboard BAL/SE stage. Could both be powered, connected and used contemporarily yielding (per channel) one balanced an 2 x SE outputs? Or is this to much for the poor Legato.
The modules stacks nicely - just a shame that one has to take apart the pyramid to access one of the Ventus trimpots :-)

Looks like an green Aztec temple. :)

Yes you have the right idea, and no, it will be no problem to use the legato like this. It will work quite well actually.
