Possibly stupid question: which are the I/V resistors (R1-4 or R13-16) doing the actual I/V conversion on IVYIII? Cheers, Nic

None of them, really. The I/V is done by the signal being directly fed into the OPAMPS and the resistors are just there to control the feedback.

Thanks. I had a better look at the schematics and in fact they are in the op-amp feedback loop and not in the signal path. I was just looking for somewhere to "tweak" on the IVY III. It is already fantastic with my cans but as I have a second unused kit I wanted to do some experimentation just for the fun of it. Difficult to find anywhere on the IVY II for improvement!

Feedback resistors are definately good ones to tweak for better sound.

Yes - you may be right but: 1) there is quite a few of these on the board..... 2) low tolerance appear to be an important feature of the IVY III design and I don't want to spend >500$ on bulk foil resistors..... Maybe the filter caps? Only 4 pcs of those and several people seem to like polystyrene caps for this purpose on the Legato. I'm not much into cap-rolling and I would not know what type/value would be the best here. I'm can hear that the film caps chosen by Russ and Brian already do a very good job!

So, which resistor numbers would be best upgrading for optimal sound quality of the IVY III?
