I still haven't unpackaged the Buffalo board, I'd like to know if the pin headers must be soldered to each board ( AVCC and Legato )and if are there special tips to do that. For earlier regulation is it preferable to have not pins soldered in case is needed to remove the AVCC module or the Buffalo board from the Legato ? I hope these are my last silly questions and do not bother more... Thanks to anyone will help me regards gianluca

For the headers connecting buffalo and legato it is best to solder them with the two boards mounted together with spacers and screws so you will be sure that the connectors are perfectly aligned (I use the female on legato). The screws go on top (buffalo board), the female/male spacer between buffalo and legato boards and the female/female spacer below legato. Essentially the same thing for the AVCC module; mount it on the buffalo board and keep it in place with an elastic, solder a few header points on the AVCC board, turn it all around and do a few connector joints on the buffalo, remove elastic and do the rest of the joints. I used the female header on buffalo and male on the AVCC module. I don't understand what you mean by "earlier regulation". The pin headers connects the boards in a reversible manner (snap-in) and you will not have to do any soldering to separate the boards. Cheers, Nic

It is generally better to use the female header on the DAC. The reason is that then if you change I/V stages it is much simpler to get the pin headers than the female headers. And we generally supply the pin headers.
Neither the AVCC module nor Legato/Ivy modules need to be permanently mounted but the connectors do. :)

In the meantime you can use only 2 pair per side instead of 3 and it will work just fine.
