I am guessing there is quite a bit of current being shunted because QP1 heatsink is cooking at 59.5 C. QN1 is running 37.8 C. How do I measure the amount of shunted current on a Placid non BP version 2.0? The Placid is being run at 5.5v to run a Buffalo II and a TOSLINK module.

That temp is actually nothing to worry over, but you likely could adjust the current down a bit.
For that version of placid if you want to tune the shunt current you will need to measure the actual current draw of your load, and then simply adjust the CCS current with VR2 30-40ma of headroom is plenty.
