Hi, I am very impressed of the building quality of both Opus and SPDIF boards. They were my Xmas presents and since the end of last year I have read most of the Opus related DIY topics. My system consists of a DIY Balanced BOSOZ pre- and JLH (balanced version) power amplifiers. The Opus works great on this, I did try both of the + outputs (unbalanced) only through Elna’s , and the direct balanced outputs to the BOSOZ. I like the sound a lot, a later config seems have more space and resolution but the first one is may be more emotional. I would know your advice, what could be the next step, just omit the BOSOZ from the chain and use the balanced JLH (+volumite?)only or go for Ballsie (IVY-III) with BOSOZ + JLH ? Or….? Impute impedances are very close; they are 100 and 120 kohms. Thanks and congratulations for this high quality diy product!

Thanks!

I would definitely try using the Opus (with volumite) directly - even DC coupled so long as your power amp is differential input and does not mind a little common mode DC.

The IVY-III is also a solid choice. I really will come down to personal preference. :)

Cheers!

Thanks! I go first for naked direct output :-). Are any distortion assumed by the lack of filters of the DAC outputs? Do I need to order two volumites in case of dual-mono mode? Cheers! János
