I was wondering if the output caps on the Opus can be bypassed when using the ballsie lite. I know you could do this when using the previous ballsie, but I'm not sure if this is the same with the ballsie lite.
I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it.

Yes, you can DC couple to the ballsie lite. No caps required. :)

Thanks for the quick response, but now I have another problem.
So, I bypassed the caps on the opus, but now I have no sound at all coming from the DAC. Any idea what the problem could be?

How did you bypass them, and did you have sound from it before the bypass?

I did had sound before the bypass.
I have bypassed them like this:

This is the rest of the info about the DAC:
Output voltage placids: 7,49DC, 7,48VDC and 7,49VDC
Output voltage LCBPS: + 13,99 and - 13,97

Input voltage S/PDIF receiver: 7,46VDC
Input voltage Opus: 7,47VDC
Input voltage Metronome: 7,47VDC
Input voltage Ballsie: +13,99 and -13,97

Connection between S/PDIF receiver and metronome:
BCK -> BCK
SCK not connected
LRCK -> LRC
Dout -> D
GND -> G

Connection between metronome and Opus:
BCK -> BCK
SCK -> MCK
LRC -> LRCK
D -> Din
G -> G

Connection between Opus and Ballsie:
- -> In -

I checked all the connections with my DMM.

Perhaps a short to GND?

You could try testing the Opus in isolation removing at least the Ballsie lite. Try this "un-bypassed" and you should be able to testa single end of each channel. Test both ends (+ and -) of each channel individually.

I did a complete rewire, still no sound.

After that I tried using only the S/PDIF receiver and the opus. I removed the bypass from the caps and tested both + and - from each channel. Still no sound.

Is it possible I damaged the opus while doing the bypass of the caps?

That is what it is starting to sound like yes. ESD can kill a DAC very easily.

Yes, I'm afraid so. It isn't even humming, just dead quiet.
Any thoughts on how to check if the rest is still working?

Well I would tty testing each module in isolation if you can.

No, I don't have another opus. Actually, I have nothing at my disposal.
The best thing is probably to order a new opus.

Well It difficult for me to be certain if it is really dead. Inspect it very carefully especially looking around the switches and terminal blocks. Check for inadvertent shorts and opens. You would be surprised how many times I accidentally hit a switch or missed a wire while rewiring.

If you have a multimeter that measures resistance check for ~0 ohms between terminals from board to board. Some meters have a handy feature in that they will sound a tone when the resistance is very low.
