Hi,

I need to power a new pre-amp that I have just build but it is extremely sensitive to residual noise from the power supply...

Does anyone know what we can expect from the Placid BP in terms of uV (+/- 20Hz-20KHz). Powering with 2x 15v 25va Triad Magnetic Toroid (input is 60hz, 2x 115v)

I bought two of those Placid BP but cannot measure them right now (my friend has the oscilloscope and he's on vacation...).

Thanks!

It really depends on the load etc, but you can expect < 15uv.

You can actually tweak this a bit by trading some ramp up time for a larger time constant in the VREF R/C filter. Also if you have a very heavy load consider augmenting the smoothing caps after the rectifier.

Cheers!

Thanks Russ!

Just another question... I assembled one of my Placid BP V2.1.2

It came with 20R trim pots and 10K trim pots. The problem is that your adjustment instruction talks about 200R trim pots and 2K trim pots.

Can you please help me with this or did I just get the wrong parts?

My two Placid BP have those values.

Thanks
