Hi,
Through clumsy soldering/desoldering I seem to have damaged the ground pad next to VD input on my Buffalo II. The DAC still works - I have put a temporary ground in via the gnd pad on volumite - but because of my layout this is a bit of an awkward solution and I wondered whether there is a handier option for long term.
I don't plan to use the mute LED - does the -ve pad here connect directly to GND? If not is there anywhere alse handy? Unfortunately I am using all external regs, so the pads for these are a little awkward to use too.

Any pad that has no impedance(measured) to GND should be OK.

Thanks Russ, but I am a little wary of sticking a multimeter on this board as I don't really know what I am doing and those things apply voltage. Sorry to need it spelling out, but would the MUTE led pad do the job, or would it be OK to use GND on the signal outputs (my output stage is a transformer so I am not using these pads)?

It is probably best to put the PS ground near where it used to be. Look at the back, all Gnd lines terminate at that single point. If your pad is completely destroyed, you can install the screw terminals and if you scrape some of the solder mask (varnish?) right near the pad you can make good contact with the pin of the crew terminal.

Thanks GLT. It looks to my inexperienced eyes more like VD where all the lines come together at the pad on the bottom. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. But I've managed to make a connection now so all looks rosy. Thanks for all help. Much appreciated.

You are right, must be VD  (somehow I had the "star gnd" image in my mind...) In any case, that's what I do when I mess up a pad... Merry Christmas...
