Hi all,

I have connected my new (august 2010) B-DAC according to instructions and using the Twisted Pear Audio 5.5 V supply.
I use Foobar with Kernel Streaming output to the SPIF input on the Buffalo board.
I only get part of the signal out from the DAC i.e. signal-switch to zero-signal-switch to zero etc.
The output behaves identically on both channels (and left and right) and with and without the piggy-back circuitry.
The power is steadily 5.0-5.5. The cable from the computer is functioning and Foobar works fine.
When feeding the discontious signals to the amplifier stage after the DAC and to my sound system the sound is acceptable
in the deep bass but ...

So, where can my Buffalo system be malfunctioning? Any suggestions? Is the Buffalo broken? Shall I send the Buffalo back?

Regards!

Does the lock led burn constantly or not? Also, adding a picture might help.

If it is varying between 5-5.5V then it is *not* steady in the least. Are you sure you have the placid setup for adequate shunt current?

LeonvB: Power is stable at 5.46 volts

Russ White: yes the lock led is constantly burning.

If it is constantly locked then it is probably not the DAC dropping out. Try another source or two.
