Basically its the ultimate purpose designed little 1.2/3.3V shunt reg. Ultra low noise, ultra low impedance. What more could you want? Edited by user Friday, November 12, 2010 5:46:43 PM(UTC)

Well, I hooked my headphones up to one and it just made a pop sound... (ha ha) Quote: when can we get it? We have been prototyping these since before the BII came out. I would say a few weeks. Edited by user Friday, November 12, 2010 8:06:18 PM(UTC)

What you can be sure of is we tried for many months making this the best possible solution for the task. It is in no small part thanks to Brian's testing. The idea is to allow you to use a tuned shunt regulators in place of the already excellent linear regulators for all of the supplies of the buffalo II. Subjective reviews will not come from me except this. It's the bees knees. Edited by user Friday, November 12, 2010 9:20:16 PM(UTC)

How about objective (measurements) of a Buffalo II stock VS. one with Tridents? :) The same would be interesting in Stereo VS. Dual Mono Buffalo IIs.
[Btw, please answer the neighboring thread on Ballsie availability. ;p ]

[Btw, please answer the neighboring thread on Ballsie availability. ;p ] My guess is a BufII with trident would likely measure the same. It's not necessarily about measurements here. The idea is just to give people the shunt regulation option some have been wanting.

christensenleif@msn.com wrote:3 needed for each BUFFII ? what audible difference? price? best Leif Norway You can use none, 1, 2, or 3. Totally up to you. You just remove the ferrite under the board for each Trident you want to install. Two of the BufII supplies are 3.3V and one is 1.2V. I don't know how you can expect me to describe the audible difference. I am a listener not a writer. ;) Edited by user Tuesday, November 16, 2010 7:12:22 AM(UTC)

ok thxs it´s not unusual for experienced listeners to be capable of describing a subjectively perceived difference in sound reproduction after a hardware change/improvement a pure technical motive for implementing a new regulator is of no interest if it has no sonic implications after all, it´s the sound I´m after, not the hardware I´d better try it myself then:d/ best Leif

Sure, I just don't have that gift. :) I sure do like what I hear though. I prefer to leave the subjective speak to others.
