Hi Russ / Brian, I am somewhat of a newbie and need some help with a dual mono Buffalo/IVY setup with separate Placid's for each channel and Volumite to control volume. No sound is coming out of the right channel. I have jumpered ADDR on the right Buff board, connected PB1 to GND on the Volumite, Volumite's GND, SCL, SDA connected to both Buffalo boards, DVCC only connected to the right Buff board. When I play a channel testing CD, all LEDs light up normally on all boards including the LOCK LED on left and right Buff boards. The left channel sounds fine on the left speaker and is controlled by the Volumite. The right channel is silent.
Some troubleshooting steps I tried:

-Swapped the buffalo boards on the right and left IVYs along with their Placid supplies. Left Volumite connections untouched.
**Now left channel sound comes in from the right speaker. Left speaker is silent. This tells me that the IVY on the right side is ok along with all the connections to the speaker etc.

-Also, just to try it out, swapped the boards back and removed the PB1 to GND jumper on Volumite.
**Now left and right channels play together on each speaker, like a mono recording. Right speaker always at full volume. Volumite controls the volume on the left speaker. So at least I get sound on the right speaker therefore the right Buffalo board itself is ok, just not playing the correct channel.

Here is a picture of the setup. Could you suggest any other things to check?

I have been reading a lot of posts on the forum and other than Vitali and myself, found another thread with the exact same problem with Volumite and dual mono Buffalo.

Hey guys, first let me start by apologizing. I just found an error in the volumite code when running in dual mono mode. It is something I didn't catch because of the way I tested the firmware before I sent it to Brian.

This issue would only effect dual mono users.

I am working on a update right now. I will keep you posted.

Could you try taking the balanced output from one side of the IVY on the right side DAC please.(not the SE output per usual) I am wondering if some how the two halves of the IVY are in phase and thus canceling each other.

Tried both sides, it's cracking on both sides of the IVY. Unhooked PB1 and that's certainly one of the problems: the right channel goes much louder, but unfortunately it doesn't improve the sound. Right now I'm rewiring all of the outputs to see if I made a mistake somewhere.

The firmware issue for dual mono was all about phase being incorrect for the right channel, not noise. There would be no noise. I suspect there may be another issue with your setup.

That is correct, I identified it as a separate issue. Never the less it's one I'd like to see solved
I've tipped every of the legs of the central opamp with my iron, and now the noise is gone. But the sound is still distorted on both sides at higher volumes. I'm a bit cautious about the other opamps, as those aren't nearly as accessible as the one I just did. Any suggestions?

BTW one BII board with IVY also sounds very good.
