I have a really nice 56VA, 14V/14V dual secondary transformer I would like to use with the Placid, seems like this should be fine for powering the upcoming Legato with its 12 volt rails, and might even be good to keep the heat down on the Placid (as opposed to 15V tranny). Just looking for a confirmation that this will be A-OK.

It's a little overkill (56VA) but that's certainly not a problem. It should work fine.
