My power supplies are up and running fine, the regulated section LEDs on the Buffalo light, but when connecting to a source I hear about a half second of static, which fades to silence, and the auto mute LED comes on.
I am feeding the DAC with a TORX module into D1 and GND, with the SPDIF switch "1", which is opposite position of "ON". I have the optical coming from an LG LCD television.
Any ideas?

What model is the TV? It may be that the default output mode of the TV is not Stereo PCM.

The lock LED is lit the whole time that the input is connected. The TV is an LG 47LH40. As far as I can tell from the user manual, the optical out is actually 5.1 So now I have to find another digital source. I don't even know if I have one!

Thank you for the hint, that was it. I got the USB DAC unit outputting SPDIF to the Buffalo and it's working in that setup. All I can say is WOW! Edited by user Tuesday, June 29, 2010 3:15:25 PM(UTC)
