SPDIF is simple: SPDIF (tip) and GND are the only connections. It's more likely to be consumer level. Set DIP switches according to the manual

I set up DVD output as PCM, and I tried both consumer (SPDIF switch ON) and TTL (SPDIF switch OFF) SPDIF, but it didn't work.

Well I'm stumped. There must be something you're not doing right. A simple wiring diagram and/or nice, clear photos might help with the problem solving. Maybe you know someone technically-minded who can check it over?

Maybe my cheap DVD has some problem or protection etc. that who knowns.
