Just a quick question - the recommended voltage to the Buffalo II is 5.5V, is it possible to rise it to 5.6V without damaging the DAC? Thanks in advance...
P.S.I am sure I have read the answer to my question, I just cannot find it :(

I believe 5.5 is the max operating voltage of the AVCC shunt regulator.

5.6V should not kill anything. :)

Hm, hate to be a PITA but I measured the voltage and it is 5.63V, please advise if that is too much... The more important question is if I have to measure something else, the PSU that gave me these numbers is an AMB sigma11 and I was wondering if there is another specification to take into consideration, I remember that the sigma11 was supposed to be more "powerful"-can that harm the Buffalo II? Apologies for asking these questions guys but I am not an engineer and I am trying to think about everything before connecting it to the DAC, I know that it is silly to try things I don't understand but you know how it feels...TIA Edited by user Monday, May 24, 2010 5:00:04 AM(UTC)

I think it will be fine, but if you are worried, simply use another power supply. The opamp is rated for 5.5V but I doubt a couple tenths are going to kill it.
